CEILA Privacy Policy
CEILA is operated by XChiral LLC (“XChiral,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you use the CEILA mobile application.
Information You Provide
CEILA does not require you to create an account or provide your name, email address, phone number, or other account information to use the app.
When you use Ask Universe, the text you submit is transmitted to a third-party artificial intelligence service provider, DeepSeek, for the purpose of generating a response.
XChiral does not store Ask Universe conversation content on its servers.
Conversation history displayed in CEILA is stored locally on your device. Removing the app may remove this locally stored conversation history.
Anonymous Identifiers
CEILA generates random identifiers that are not derived from your Apple ID, advertising identifier, or hardware identifiers.
An anonymous installation identifier is used to enforce service limits and help prevent duplicate requests. The server stores a cryptographic hash of this identifier together with temporary usage counters. These records expire automatically.
CEILA also uses a separate anonymous identifier for product analytics. The analytics identifier and service-limit identifier are not intentionally linked to each other or to your real-world identity.
Analytics
CEILA uses PostHog to understand how features of the app are used and to improve the product.
CEILA sends limited product interaction events, such as app activity, completion of onboarding, views of the paywall, selected subscription plans, use of Ask Universe, ritual completion, affirmation views and sharing actions, purchase restoration events, and stone interactions.
Ask Universe message content is not included in CEILA’s PostHog analytics events.
Some interaction events may include limited contextual information such as a selected stone, number of interactions, or session duration.
Automatic page tracking, session replay, heatmaps, surveys, and automatic interaction capture are disabled in CEILA’s PostHog configuration.
PostHog may receive technical network information, such as the source IP address, as part of processing a network request. CEILA disables PostHog’s IP-based geolocation enrichment.
Subscriptions and Payments
CEILA offers optional auto-renewable subscriptions through Apple’s App Store.
Payment information and billing are handled by Apple. XChiral does not receive your payment card or bank account information.
Advertising and Tracking
CEILA does not display third-party advertising.
CEILA does not use the Apple advertising identifier (IDFA), does not request App Tracking Transparency permission, and does not use information to track you across apps or websites owned by other companies for advertising purposes.
Data Retention
Ask Universe conversation content is not stored by XChiral on its servers.
Temporary service-limit and request-control records are automatically deleted after their applicable expiration periods.
Conversation history stored locally on your device remains there until removed by the app, its local storage is cleared, or the app is removed.
Third-party service providers may process information according to their own applicable data-retention practices and agreements with XChiral.
Third-Party Service Providers
CEILA uses service providers to operate specific features, including:
- DeepSeek, to process Ask Universe requests and generate responses.
- PostHog, to provide limited product analytics.
- Apple, to process App Store subscriptions and payments.
These providers process information only in connection with the services they provide, subject to their applicable terms and privacy practices.
Children’s Privacy
CEILA is not designed to knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe personal information from a child has been provided to us inappropriately, please contact us.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as CEILA evolves. When we make changes, we will update the effective date shown at the top of this page.
